Team

Gary Becker, President

Gary is an experienced leader in the planning, community economic development, and real estate industries. He has over 40 years of consulting experience assisting municipalities, regions, developers, and community organizations address development issues. Gary’s primary areas of specialty include economic development strategy and finance, review of economic and real estate development proposals, and tax incremental finance. Gary has an M.S. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and a B.S. in Economics and Geography from the same institution. Member of International Economic Development Council (iEDC) – Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) emeritus, Wisconsin Economic Development Association (WEDA), American Planning Association (APA).

Katrina Becker, Vice President

Katrina has over a decade of experience in economic development, nonprofit administration, grant writing, business operations, research and evaluation, and program development and implementation. As co-founder of Becker Professional Services, she has spent the past 3+ years specializing in tax increment financing, business retention and expansion, and community planning. Katrina has a Master’s Degree in Development Practice (sustainable community development) with a minor in Program Evaluation from the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Entrepreneurship and Nonprofit Management with a minor in Sustainability from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

Callie LaPoint, Director of Operations | Marketing

Callie has over 15 years of experience in event management, marketing, and client services. Callie holds a B.A. in Communication with emphasis in Public Relations and Marketing from the University of North Dakota. Prior to joining Becker, she spent 6 years at the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce’s event manager and tourism director where she was instrumental in leading community-wide event planning and implementation, including leading Stoughton’s Syttende Mai festival, the largest Syttende Mai festival in the U.S. with approximately 20,000 visitors.
