Team

Gary Becker, President

Gary is an experienced leader in the planning, community economic development, and real estate industries. He has over 40 years of consulting experience assisting municipalities, regions, developers, and community organizations address development issues. Gary’s primary areas of specialty include economic development strategy and finance, review of economic and real estate development proposals, and tax incremental finance. Gary has an M.S. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and a B.S. in Economics and Geography from the same institution. Member of International Economic Development Council (iEDC) – Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) emeritus, Wisconsin Economic Development Association (WEDA), American Planning Association (APA).

Katrina Becker, Vice President

Katrina has a Master’s Degree in Development Practice (community and economic development with an international focus) with a minor in Program Evaluation from the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs, and a B.S. in Entrepreneurship and Nonprofit Management with a minor in Sustainability from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. Katrina has a decade of experience in business operations, nonprofit administration and fundraising, research and evaluation, economic development and entrepreneurship, and most recently managed a fellowship program for entrepreneurs in Minneapolis, Minnesota from 2018-2022.

Katherine Burk, Community Planner

Katherine is an experienced community planner with deep knowledge and proven success in developing best practices for city and county governments. Her expertise spans housing, zoning, land use, economic development, and substantial GIS projects. She works to create efficiencies within municipal processes to produce a more helpful process for staff and residents. In addition to her work as a community planner, she served as a City of Platteville council member. Katherine has a Masters in Community Planning from the University of Cincinnati, and  B.A. in Geography from Miami University (Ohio), and is a member of the American Planning Association (APA).

Lisa Moore, Community Development Specialist

Lisa is a seasoned community development consultant with a passion for sustainable economic growth. With 4 years of experience in economic development, she has been an active member of WEDA. Lisa holds a B.S. in Environmental Studies and an Associate’s in Energy Engineering, providing her with a solid understanding of environmental and energy-related issues. Dedicated to finding sustainability solutions that align with community needs and local government objectives, Lisa strives to create long-lasting positive impacts. She serves on the local sustainability board, actively shaping policies and initiatives that promote environmental stewardship and community resilience.

Callie LaPoint, Director of Operations

Callie has over 15 years of experience in event management, marketing, and client services. Callie holds a B.A. in Communication with emphasis in Public Relations and Marketing from the University of North Dakota. For the past 6 years she’s been instrumental as the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce’s event manager and tourism director prior to joining Becker Professional Services.
